WELCOME TO ATTYR
The shoes that have already traveled thousands of miles, and will take you thousands more.
An estimated 3.2 million end-of-life tyres are produced in New Zealand each year, and an increase is expected. Of these, only 25% are currently being recycled; the remaining 21,600 metric tonnes of wasted resources will either end up in landfill, be illegally dumped, or stockpiled where they pose a fire-risk.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY
ATTYR was founded in 2020 by a group of students who attend Nayland College in Nelson, New Zealand, as a part of the Young Enterprise Scheme, and with the purpose of creating and selling locally-made, high-quality, sustainable footwear.
In homage to Kenyan marathon culture, in which innovative runners would reuse car tyres to create footwear that would last them their traverses through the vast Kenyan landscape, ATTYR has developed a shoe for the active and ecologically conscious New Zealand lifestyle.
By working together with local businesses such as Korker's Sandal Company and Jack's Tyre Nelson, ATTYR has translated original designs into a shoe with a sole made from entirely recycled car tyres and uppers made from premium-quality leather for maximum durability and comfort.
